Funnels, Landing Pages and Webinars...Oh MY!

Just when I thought I had it (kind of) figured out, Covid arrived and the Digital Marketing Landscape Changed Forever!!

Oh how things have changed. I mean, back in my day, we used to use the yellow pages, newspaper ads, distribute flyers around the neighborhood and in parking lots, and when funds permitted, a few 30-second commercials on radio or cable TV. Heck, I even did a live radio call-in show for 7 years! Then came the internet...

Next it was Google, email, My Space (am I dating myself?), followed by Facebook and Twitter, Periscope (is that even still a thing?) and the explosion of YouTube Videos, Instagram, LinkedIn and on and on. Then came Snap Chat and the onset of "stories," followed by TikTok and Instagram's version, "Reels!" Oh, and we can't forget about Podcasts and now Clubhouse! It's enough to make you crazy trying to keep up with it all!!

I think it was back in 2016/17 when all the gurus started talking about how you had to have a website, do webinars, build funnels and execute email marketing campaigns. I tried. I tried them all, and all I got was confused and overwhelmed by it ALL (not to mention broke, from all the "free webinars" that ended with a 30-minute pitch for the latest greatest training for only $997!!) I thought social media was hard, but this stuff...over the top technical! I was lost. Again.

When Covid hit, it's like the world closed up and everything shifted to online. I mean everything. Small businesses and restaurants were/are closing, even some retail giants have tossed in the towel. It's a different world, and folks, if we don't pivot and adjust our business models, we are in danger of going out of business. That is no exageration.

Okay, now for some GOOD NEWS. It's never too late to learn. You CAN teach "old dogs" new tricks. And you don't have to be a tech wizard to learn how to come of age with your social media and digital marketing strategies! Period.
